This past weekend was really a blurr. Blake celebrated his 36th, yep that's right...36th birthday. HE'S OLDER THAN MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL!! His parents flew in Friday and spent the weekend with us, and we all had a really good time. The kids enjoyed seeing their Nana and Pop.
We just got back tonight from "Meet the Teachers" nite at Cody's school. I cannot believe it is already time to go back to school again. We met Cody's teacher, and she seems very nice. I am looking forward to another great year at Madison Station Elementary. Hatcher starts next Thursday and we will go to his meet the teacher nite next Tuesday. He is so excited. He is ready to be at Cody's school, tho'. We, I mean, I am ready for them to start NOW!!!! LOL. Well, I will hopefully have more time to post now that they are back in school. Have a GREAT year all!!!

Former Mrs. Mississippi U. S. - Candi Johnson 1975 - 2007

I know this is a website about my family, but that last two days of my life have kinda been wrapped up in this. Candi Johnson crowned me Mrs. MS in 2002. She and I became friends during my reign and she was such and encouragement for me. She was killed in an automobile accident Monday, July 23rd. I just got back from her visitation a couple of hours ago. It just makes you want to go home and love your children and husband. I cannot imagine what her husband and two boys must be going through. Hatcher and Cody have been asking alot of questions about death (especially Hatcher, who thinks that God will drop her back down when He is done) since I told them about Candi. I have had a lot of explaining to do. Have you ever had to explain death to a 4 year old? That was an interesting conversation!!!
Please say a prayer for her family when you go to bed tonite.

My First 5K Ever!!
OMG!! I just finished my very first 5k this morning!!! I ran it in 29:29, which is under my practice times (30:37). I cannot believe it. I am really tired now and want to go to bed. I just had to tell anyone who would read this. I am slowly working my way up to a half marathon, I hope. That is my goal, anyway. Well, I am gone for now, but will try to keep up with my blogs better, I know I have not been doing so well. Bye!

Hatcher's Birthday Party
I do apologize for the LATEness of the posts, but there have been some problems, for whatever reason, with our blogspot. I will try and catch everyone up on everything. First off, we had Hatcher's 4th birthday party today at PUMP IT UP!! If you have never been to a pump it up, YOU NEED TO GO!! Whether adult or child, you must try it out, it is really alot of fun and definitely the way to go as far as a birthday party goes. I did NOTHING!! LOL!! We all had a blast and Hatcher is POOPED tonite. I will post a slide show of pictures soon. Be on the lookout. They are really funny.
Anyway, the other thing in our life is that my mother has broken her foot and has been staying with us some. We just found out this week that she will not be able to get the boot off for 4 to 6 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is going to be really hard for her, so please keep her in your prayers. Those that know my mom know that she also has Neuropothy (sp?) in her hands and feet, and this is what caused the breaks in her foot. We hope and pray that her foot will heal quicker than they first thought.
In other news, Cody is on the Courthouse Swim Team....The Sea Lions...and doing really well. He has really progressed a lot in the past two weeks. I am very proud of him. He is learning a difficult lesson by not quitting (which is what he wanted to do the first week and a half) once you start something. We told him that he had to finish out this season and if he didn't want to do it next year, then he didn't have to. He seems to have given in to that for now! He is slowly working up to swimming the length of the deep end of the pool! WOW!!
Gunnar just keeps getting bigger and more active. He is discovering table food and slowly, but surely not liking baby food anymore, but who could blame him. His first two teeth are coming in finally (I hope that means he will have good teeth). I think that is it! Have a great day and I will talk later...

A Night in the ER
It was a typical Sunday morning yesterday, we were all trying to get dressed and ready for Church. Cody had a place on the bottom of his foot that he cut on a pair of my flip flops last week, and it was really bothering him. Someone always has a cut or scrape in this house, so we don't get stressed. We just stick a bandaid on it and go on; however, when he pulled off his shoe it was swollen all around the cut, by last nite he had a red line going up the top of his foot toward his ankle. Needless to say, Cody and I headed for the ER at Baptist at 9pm last nite. At 1 o'clock this morning we were coming home. Thank goodness they didn't have to admit him for IV Antibiotics. He went in to school late this morning and was so upset because he missed the "Announcements". The N. P. said that he had Cellulitis (infection of the skin). He is doing much better now.

Baseball, baseball and more baseball!!

Sorry it has been a little while since my last post. We have been busy. The biggest news is that Cody hit a homerun today at his baseball game!!!! WOOHOO!! I am not a proud parent at all, and don't really want to boast, but he did awesome today. I am posting some of the action pictures that a photographer took last week. They look really cool. Anyway, that is really the highlight for us. Hatcher is an aspiring baseball player runs the bases after every game. He should know how to do that when he starts playing next year. Gunnar is doing good. He is crawling all over the place and has now started waving goodbye. He is growing up so fast...I can't keep up. Well, I will keep everyone posted on new happenings when they occur. Goodnight!
